She asked me to make her some jewellery out of black pearls and amber. My apologies for the appalling photographs but I thought I'd show you. This is the Amber, mixed with topaz Swarovski crystal, goldstone, 9ct gold, and Miyuki beads, its a necklace and a bangle:   And this is the black pearl, mixed again with miyuki and matsuno, gold, amethyst and light blue sapphire swarovski crystal   Again, apologies for the poor picture quality - I haven't figured out this camera yet. In fact, when I follow the instructions, it gets worse.. Anyway. Hope mum will like them. She doesn't 'do' earrings, so this is the best i could do. She actually wanted me to mix amber and black pearl. I tried, but the results, and they were many, were vile. | ||

Next project is for my best friend Jayne, who virtually painted half of this house over the last two months by choice. She's just been on holiday, so I'm thinking mother of pearl and blue lace agate with gold to go with her tan. Might even throw in the odd black pearl.. (I like black pearls) | ||

Ooops just realised that the crystal in the second one wasn't just light sapphire, there's some fuscia in there too because it looked pretty and I think it will suit my mum. | ||

Thank you, Penny. Yes she loved them - she even changed her outfit so she could wear both in the same day. I made something for my friend for a wedding in pink crystal and rose quartz, complete with bangles and about four different kinds of earring too, but forgot to take a picture. She picked all the stones out and I built it with her standing next to me. Then, sneakily, I used similar stones and made something completely different. I gave her both sets, and she by far preferred the sneaky one I made. She's kept all the pieces though - I told her if there was something she would never wear to pass it back and I'd make something else instead, so that's a good sign. Wish I'd taken a picture - they were quite pretty. | ||
